Bio

Super Luxury are four happening young men from Leeds, West Yorkshire – Tom Goodall (Bass), Adam Nodwell (Vocals), Chris Riviera (Guitar / Backing Vocals) and Hamish Watts (Drums).

Formed in 2011 over a mutual love of noise rock (the Cows, the Jesus Lizard, Les Savy Fav….) and classic rock like AC/DC, Super Luxury are a high energy noise rock combo who deliver hit after hit at eye watering levels of volume. Super Luxury have played with lots of great bands including Metz, Cloud Nothings, Big Ups, Male Bonding, Greys, Rolo Tomassi and That Fucking Tank among others.

Super Luxury self-record their own music, film their own high-budget videos and produce their own artwork. Most importantly Super Luxury try and keep live shows as fun as possible. Such fun includes cowboy costumes, ladders, confetti cannons, crowd surfing on inflatables, hot dog eating competitions and broken legs (frontman Adam broke his leg jumping off the stage of the Brudenell Social Club, Leeds in 2013).

Super Luxury has previously released one three track cassette (Mystery Thriller Teen Drama, 2012) and will release their first album “Ten Solid Years of Applause” in March 2015. The album was almost entirely recorded at the Brudenell Social Club and features a mix of noise rock, classic rock, indie and post punk. Sludgy, noisy tracks like Crunchy Boy, Golden Climbing (a song about 80’s t.v. series Knightmare) and Milk Sauce sit alongside faster, aggressive numbers such as Hyperhidrosis and Ian MacKaye Made So Much Money Out of Fugazi….. (an Ian MacKaye tribute song and response to criticisms levelled at Mr MacKaye due to his supposed net worth) and indie / post punk songs like Drunk on Power and Constant Delicious.

As well as a new album, the band has lots of exciting things planned for 2015 including support slots with Sleaford Mods and Dope Body and will be touring mid-March 2015.

Reviews

Kerrang - "Super Luxury like distortion and feedback, twisting both into hulking great slabs of ear abuse that recall The Jesus Lizard and Black Flag's sludgier moments without quite sounding like either"

Soundshock.com - "some of the most energetic pure rock noise we have seen this year...monster riffs, electrifying guitar solos, a loose cannon front man bouncing around the venue like Zebedee raging on speed".

Shlur.com – “massive guitar riffs, gut busting bass, tribal drumming and the always entertaining onstage antics of singer Adam Nodwell including his traditional firing of a confetti gun when you least expect it”
